E se avessi bisogno di un software di cui non riesco a trovare una versione per linux? Che per quanto giri e rigiri su internet l'unica versione che trovo è per windows? Niente problemi, su linux hanno pensato anche a questo. Esiste infatti un programma, di nome WINE, che si occupa di far girare sul pinguino un nutrito numero di software windows. Vediamo allora come funziona.
Innanzitutto controlliamo se nella nostra distribuzione è già presente Wine, cercandolo su Applicazioni. Se non ci fosse utilizziamo il gestore pacchetti Synaptic e lo scarichiamo. Una volta che Wine è installato nel nostro sistema operativo possiamo iniziare la procedura. Per prima cosa ci procuriamo il file .exe che ci interessa. Dopodiché molto semplicemente clicchiamo col destro sull'icona del file, selezioniamo "Apri con Wine" e il gioco è fatto.Partirà la procedura guidata di installazione proprio come se ci trovassimo in ambiente windows. Conclusa l'installazione il software windows sarà pronto per l'utilizzo. Lo dovremmo trovare in "Applicazioni –> Wine –> Programmi –> NOME PROGRAMMA. Insomma, semplice ed immediato come se fossimo su windows. L'unica limite è che non tutti i software riescono ad essere eseguiti tramite Wine, in particolare quelli molto complessi. Per quanto mi riguarda
